About the service

Precision Concrete Coring for Building Services

Core drilling, also called concrete coring, uses a hollow diamond bit to remove a cylindrical core from a floor, wall or foundation. It creates a round, defined penetration with less chipping and impact than percussion drilling.

Hole diameter, depth, angle, concrete reinforcement, access and what is located beyond the drilling surface all affect the setup. Titan reviews those details before work begins.

Common applications

Core Drilling Applications

Core drilling supports the trades that need pipes, conduit, ductwork, anchors and building services to pass through concrete. Each hole should be coordinated with the approved drawings and surrounding structure.

Plumbing & Drainage

Round penetrations for supply, waste, vent and drainage piping.

Electrical & Conduit

Openings for conduit, cable trays, communications and electrical services.

HVAC & Mechanical

Concrete penetrations for ductwork, refrigerant lines and mechanical systems.

Fire Protection

Cored openings for sprinkler branches, risers and related fire-protection work.

Anchors & Testing

Cores for structural anchors, sampling, testing and other engineered requirements.

Floors, Walls & Foundations

Clean circular openings through a range of concrete building elements.

Why Titan

Core Drilling Planned Around the Structure

A clean hole is only part of a successful coring job. The plan should also address concealed hazards, access, water, slurry, core retrieval and protection below or behind the drilling area.

Accurate Hole Geometry

Diamond core bits create defined circular penetrations for building-service installations.

Concrete & Masonry

Core drilling can work through concrete, reinforced concrete, block and masonry.

Lower Impact

Coring removes material with less impact and edge damage than percussion methods.

Site-Specific Planning

Access, water, slurry, occupied areas and protection beyond the hole are reviewed upfront.

How it works

Our Core Drilling Process

A clear hole schedule and pre-drill review help prevent delays once the crew arrives.

01

Review the Hole Schedule

Provide hole quantities, diameters, depths, angles, locations, drawings and the purpose of each penetration.

02

Confirm the Structure

Titan reviews the concrete element, reinforcement if known, access and the area beyond the drilling surface.

03

Scan or Locate as Required

Scanning or locating may be recommended where rebar, conduit, post-tension cables or other concealed items could be present.

04

Set Up and Drill

The drill is anchored or secured, site protection is installed and each opening is cored to the agreed requirements.

05

Retrieve Cores and Clean Up

Concrete cores, slurry and work-area cleanup are handled according to the written scope.

Core Drilling for GTA Construction & Renovations

GTA coring projects range from a single residential service penetration to hole schedules across high-rise, commercial, warehouse, institutional and industrial sites.

Tell Titan about occupied areas, ceiling access, finished spaces, restricted working hours and whether drilling is through a suspended slab or wall. Those conditions affect setup and protection.

Core Drilling Across Toronto and the GTA

Titan provides concrete core drilling in Toronto, Mississauga, Etobicoke, North York, Scarborough, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Brampton, Oakville and surrounding GTA communities. Send us the project address and hole schedule.

Frequently asked questions

Planning Your Core Drilling Work

Diameter and depth matter, but so do reinforcement, access and the space on the other side of the hole. These questions cover the information needed to plan coring work.

Core drilling creates clean circular openings for plumbing, electrical conduit, HVAC, sprinkler systems, anchors, testing and other building-service penetrations.

Yes. Diamond core bits can drill through concrete containing reinforcing steel. Reinforcement, depth and concrete conditions affect tooling, time and the drilling plan.

Scanning or locating may be recommended when the concrete could contain electrical conduit, post-tension cables, plumbing or other concealed hazards. Confirm whether scanning is included or arranged separately for the project.

Core drilling can be performed through concrete floors, walls and foundations. Access, drilling orientation, water control and protection on the opposite side need to be reviewed.

Send the site address, hole quantity, diameters, depths, drilling orientation, photos or drawings, concrete type, access details, and whether scanning or core removal is required.

Request a Core Drilling Estimate

Send Titan the hole schedule, drawings or marked-up photos, along with the site address and access details. We will review the core drilling requirements and prepare an estimate.
